About the designer
A Southerner by birth and Greek by both sides, Alex Holleman’s fascination with fine jewelry was encouraged at a young age. At infancy, family heirlooms comprised of coins and evil eyes were stitched into her clothing for honor and protection. From baptism to betrothal, the tradition of bearing gold for gifts continued, propelling Alex’s passion for reimagining these adornments that connected her to the past. In 2019 Alex followed her imaginative heart and with the help of a dear friend launched Love Thy Rival Fine Jewelry inspired by these long held traditions. Her pieces are sustainably made by hand in New York City with Agape.*
*Agape is the Greek word for the highest form of love manifesting in one’s unselfish love of all others.
